A warm Wednesday night saw a gathering of 57 people to celebrate many things Rotary.  Paul Harris, Past Presidents, New members and a special surprise were almost as sweet as the dessert table.

In all we had three planned Paul Harris awards and one surprise Paul Harris.  We gave out 3 Past Presidents award.  The Group of Seven, as President Jennifer affectionately calls them,  were inducted into the Club by current District Governor Anne Birmingham.  This group of dynamic individuals has formed the Satellite steering committee. Three local officials were present, the Mayor of Niagara Falls, Jim Diodatti, Member of Provincial Parliament, Wayne Gates, and Member of Parliament, Tony Baldinelli.
If all of this was not enough excitement, we had a huge surprise for the wrap up portion of the program. At the end of the evening, we announced the James A. Sissons award.  Shown here are Charter members, Wayne Gilmore and Scott Wright, reading the criteria of the award, which has been named for the Charter Club President Jim Sissons (standing beside President Elect Carrie Zeffiro.)  Jim was recognized by his ongoing fundraising efforts and for his help with the creation of the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Foundation.

The event was held at the Club Italia pavilion which easily accommodated the group, in the spacious outdoors. The air of excitement, and the positivity of good things to come.  Look out world, the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise is alive and well.
